  • Q. How do I start the process of reserving the facility?
    A. Schedule a tour with the facility’s Event Planner.    
  • Q. How many weeks in advance may I book an event?
  • A. You may book an event as far in advance as you would like to.
  • Q. Is a security deposit required?
  • A. Yes. A signed contract and deposit will be required to reserve TGHHR. A deposit of 25% of the total rental cost is required to confirm the requested event date(s). A deposit of 50% of the total rental cost is due 60 days prior to the event date(s), if applicable. Two weeks prior to the event, 100% of the total cost is due.
  • Q. What is the cancellation policy?
  • A. In the event that your function is cancelled, the deposit will be refunded based on the following schedule:

    *      90 days or more: an amount equal to three-fourths (75%) of the deposit will be refunded.

    *      60 days or more: an amount equal to half (50%) of the deposit will be refunded.

    *      30 days or more: an amount equal to one-fourth (25%) of the deposit will be refunded.

  •        29 days or less: payment is nonrefundable.


Q. Do I have to use a caterer from the facility's preferred vendors list?
  • A.  No.
  • Q. Is the facility open on holidays?
  • A. Yes. However, major holidays such as Thanksgiving, July 4th, and Christmas are usually booked far in advance. Please contact us for holiday rental availability.
  • Q. Is alcohol allowed on the premises?
  • A.  No.
  • Q. Are pets allowed on the premises?
    A. No.
  • Q. What forms of payments do you accept?
  • A. Your event may be guaranteed with payment via a personal check, cashier’s check, money order, or with the following credit cards: American Express, Visa, Master Card, and Discover.

Our Facility: The Hammock Parks

The Grandma Home House Retreat features two Hammock Parks. One is located near the lake in a grassy area directly exposed to sun, which makes it perfect for tanning or cloud watching. The other Hammock Park is located in a shady, straw-padded area across from the Sports Court and features picnic tables, providing the perfect area for lazy lounging and long chats.

The Grandma Home House Retreat lies along historic U.S. Hwy. 80, better known as "The Black Belt Nature Heritage Trail."

About Our Team

The Grandma Home House Retreat has two Certified Event Planners to assist with all of your event needs, including planning, sound system setup, catering, and more. Each Retreat personnel is CPR/First-Aid certified, and there is a certified Water Safety Instructor on staff.
