The Montgomery Advertiser, a local newspaper in Montgomery, Ala., interviewed TGHHR Event Planner Felicia Strowder, TGHHR founder Abdul Seraaj, and Avis Thomas, the Director of Training and Staff Development at Seraaj's therapeutic foster care business Seraaj Family Homes, Inc. The interview covered SFH's work in foster care, Seraaj's development of TGHHR, and how he has partially used the event venue as a professional training venue and as a therapeutic haven for foster children since the 1970s.  Read Full Article

 

TGHHR loves children, and apparently they love us too! Take a look at the fundraising efforts of this group of of foster children and adopted children and their foster or adoptive parents, and the Child Welfare professionals that work with them from Washington, D.C. and Maryland. They are raising money for a Civil Rights tour of Georgia and Alabama, which will end at a foster care festival hosted by the therapeutic foster care agency Seraaj Family Homes, Inc. at TGHHR.

Hyundai GLOVIS Alabama, LLC. had its 2015 Family Day Picnic at TGHHR on May 9, 2015. Take a look at how much fun they had!

Al-Noor Academy (Montgomery, AL) held its 2014 Kindergarten graduation at TGHHR. Watch he processional and students preparing for their graduation.

Seraaj Family Homes, Inc. held its 2014 annual Foster Care Month picnic and foster parent graduation at TGHHR in May. Check out highlights from the event, including Home Depot's arts-and-crafts session and a fun, educational visit from the Waugh-Mt. Megis Volunteer Fire Protection volunteers.

 

 TGHHR offers firework shows, if requested, for events.

This video is from part of the July 2014 firework show given for the local Muslim community's (of Montgomery, AL) celebration of Eid al-Fitr, which commences the annual observance of Ramadan.

The local Muslim community of Montgomery, AL held a community Eid al-Fitr on Monday, July 28, 2014 at TGHHR to celebrate the end of Ramadan. Alabama news station WSFA broadcasted a short overview of the event on Channel 12 at 10 p.m. on the same day of the celebration. WSFA interviewed TGHHR's CEO, Abdul Seraaj about the event.

 

 Camp Horizon from the Montgomery Therapeutic Recreation Center, a local rec center serving youth and adults with special needs, visited TGHHR for a two day retreat. The campers enjoyed such activities as peddle boating, basketball, biking, volleyball, and relaxing in hammocks. Camp Horizon's motto is "turning disabilities into windows of opportunities."

About Our Team

The Grandma Home House Retreat has two Certified Event Planners to assist with all of your event needs, including planning, sound system setup, catering, and more. Each Retreat personnel is CPR/First-Aid certified, and there is a certified Water Safety Instructor on staff.
